Improve Performance by Eliminating Flex
Significantly stiffen the chassis on your 1979-1993 Ford Mustang LX, GT or Cobra with these BBK Gripp Subframe Connectors. The Fox Body Mustang uses a uni body chassis rather than the older style body on a full frame. One of the major shortcomings of this design is that relying on the sheer strength of the floor to prevent flexing simply doesn't work, especially when pushing the car to it's limits. To fix this flex issue, install a set of BBK Gripp Mustang Subframe Connectors to tie the front and rear subframes together and vastly improve chassis strength.
Bolt-On Design
BBK subframe connectors are designed so they can be simply bolted in place by drilling a few holes and using the supplied hardware. This works great, but for maximum benefit we highly recommend that they are welded in place. Many home mechanics will bolt them on and then drive to a shop with a welder to finish the job. These subframe connectors are fully sealed and powder coated for great looks and a durability.
Installation Note:
Some Cobra models and convertibles require removal of the forward bracket on the subframe connector to clear factory bracing near the transmission crossmember. This makes them a weld-on only install in those instances.
